Instagram stories are a great way to share photos and videos with your followers in a more ephemeral way, as they only stay visible for 24 hours before disappearing from the app. However, sometimes you may want to view an old story that you've shared or that someone else has shared with you. Here's how you can find and view old Instagram stories:
View your own old stories
To view your own old stories, go to your profile page and tap on the burger icon (3 horizontal lines) in the top right corner and then click on Archive. This will bring up a page with all of your previous stories organized by date.
View an old story that someone else has shared with you
To view an old story that someone else has shared with you, tap on the paper airplane icon in the top right corner of the app to go to your Direct Messages. From there, you can find the conversation where the story was shared and tap on it to view the story
Save an old story to your device
If you want to save an old story to your device or to your Instagram archive, you can do so by following these steps:
- Go to the old story that you want to save and tap on the three dots in the bottom right corner.
- From the menu that appears, tap on "Save" to save the story to your device.
Save the story to your Instagram archive
If you want to save the story to your Instagram archive, tap on the toggle switch next to "Add to Archive" to enable it. This will save the story to a private section of your profile that only you can see.
Keep in mind that you can only view old stories that you or someone else has saved to their archive. If a story has not been saved to an archive, it will be deleted after 24 hours and can no longer be accessed.
By following these steps, you should be able to easily find and view old Instagram stories.
